Last updated on September 23, 2016 By Adam Nolan Leave a Comment

The Astros are, without a doubt, one of Houston’s biggest claims to fame. With a state of the art stadium and food to go along with it, Minute Maid Park hosts a variety of food vendors all competing to win over customers with the most delicious foods available. Texas is notorious for having delicious eats, and that tradition doesn’t stop when you walk into the park. Here are the top five ballpark eats that you can find at Minute Maid Park.

1. Chicken Waffle Cone

This is a newer treat offered to Astros fans and is one you won’t want to skip out on. A Texas sized waffle cone is stuffed full of mashed potatoes, filled with fried chicken, and then dressed with a splash of honey mustard to add that final touch. Sure, it’s a “little” calorie packed but what good foods aren’t? Grab this treat at Street Eats and get to grubbin’.

2. Crown Maple Burger

FiveSevenGrille delivers this masterfully created burger hot off the grill and ready for your mouth and stomach. Get this burger smothered in Crown Royal Maple barbecue sauce and topped with all the fixings. Included are pepper bacon, cheddar cheese, golden fried onions, crisp lettuce, and juicy tomato served fresh on a Challah roll. It will have your taste buds dancing and leave you dreaming of more, you can’t go wrong with the Crown Maple Burger.

3. Baltimore Dog

Hot dogs have a strange ability to go from typical to gourmet in a heartbeat, and the more creative you get with the toppings the more notorious it becomes. A masterpiece, however, is created when you combine seafood, noodles, and cheese. This is why the Baltimore Dog is a must try for any food loving Astros fan. A hot, freshly boiled hot dog is topped with mounds of crab and macaroni and cheese and then served fresh. We aren’t sure if it’s the crab, or the macaroni, but there’s a good chance this hot dog will have you judging all the other “normal” hot dogs out there from now on.

4. Brisket Curly Fries

This one is relatively new on the menu at Street Eats, and is already becoming a wildly popular food item at Minute Maid Park. Astros fans are loving the curly fries, seasoned and topped with shredded cheddar cheese, hot smoked brisket, chives, and jalapenos. It’s a whole bunch of food groups loaded spectacularly onto one dish and is a must try the next time you make it down to see a game.

5. Southern Comfort Dog

Release your inner child with yet another delicious, gourmet crafted hot dog. A fat, juicy hot dog is loaded onto a bun and covered in bacon, jalapenos, and macaroni and cheese. It’s a spicy, savory, cheesy take on the traditional hot dog that you won’t be forgetting about anytime soon. Bon Appetit!

It’s probably pretty clear at this point why Minute Maid Park made the “Best Ballpark Eats” in 2010. With the vendors making constant improvements to their food selection this just might be one of the best places to grab food while at a baseball game, period. Make sure you keep these five foods in mind the next time you find yourself cheering on your Houston Astros.
