Finding a good cheap road bike seems to be a lot easier for guys than for the women out there. Walk into any bike shop and you’ll see many more bike frames for men than women. It’s not fair, but that is the way that it is.
Though finding a good woman’s road bike is a challenge, there are some truly great models out there that have an affordable price. One of those is the Giordano Libero 1.6 Women’s Road Bike.
This is a great road bike for women, do not be put off by the fact that they felt the need to make the colors for it pink and white. Sadly, this is the only color choice and we all know that women like colors other than pink and not all women even like the color pink. Of course, you can probably find a novelty cycling jersey that let’s people know how you feel about the pink.
Honestly, if I had to pick one thing negative to say about this bike, it would be the lack of real color choices. It is almost insulting to all the females out there to only offer this great bike in pink.
Like I said though, if you truly want an awesome road bike that is designed for the body of a woman, then give this one some serious consideration as it has some truly great features. In fact, I think it is one of the best road bikes for women for the money.
To show you what I mean, let me give you the rundown on the specs for this bike as well as answer a few questions that I think you might have about it.
Is The Giordano Libero 1.6 Women’s Road Bike A Good Choice For You?
What’s the fit like for this bike if I want a longer pedal stroke and to sit higher?
If you want to sit higher up on this bike, you can still get a good fit. Of course, this all depends on if you buy the proper size frame for you body based on your height. Have a look at the frame sizes:
Small- 35cm/15” fits women 4’ 7”-5’2″ with a stand over of 28”-29″
Medium- 41cm/17” fits riders 4’10”-5’5″ with a stand over of 29″-30″
Does the Giordano Libero 1.6 women’s road bike have presta valve tires?
No, it does not.
Can I put this bike together on my own or is it too difficult?
Assuming that you’re having the bike shipped to your home, it will arrive in several pieces in a box. As along as you can follow the instructions, then it should be easy for you to assemble in less than 30 minutes. If you’re not up to the task, you can take the box over to a local bike shop and pay them to assemble it for you. Either way, you’ll at least want the local shop to give it a tune up once it’s put together and before you hit the road on it.
Does Giordano Libero 1.6 women’s road bike offer a good ride?
Though the seat is a bit uncomfortable, you do get a smooth ride from this bike. Some owners report that reaching the brakes and shifters is too much of a reach if you have short arms, however the included rubber shims can reduce that distance for you.
